Epoxy Stone & Hard Surface Adhesives
Various types of adhesives are available for use in fabrication projects of all sorts. Sometimes one adhesive will perform significantly better than others will in a given circumstance. We won't get into how to know when to use epoxy instead of another type of glue here. But when you need an epoxy for the job, this page is the one to go to. What are some of the variations between different epoxy adhesives?
Epoxies of Different Kinds
One of the questions you may be asking is, "what is the difference?" A main difference between the various epoxies is that each type will have a specific consistency. Some are thick enough that you will need to spread them (like peanut butter). Others are thinner and will flow on their own. The consistency you will want will depend on what you prefer or what kind of project you are working on. The different types include:
- Flowing
- Thinset
- Knife Grade
In addition to the different consistencies available, you will find that each epoxy will have another specific trait that makes it particularly effective for a certain use. Each will have a specific gel time, cure time, and will work with specific kinds of materials.
